There are lots of interesting stories to read this week, but perhaps most intriguing is the one from Mightybell. Getting traction on any of the major social networks is always a challenge, and there's an inherent risk in not owning the platform. All that hard work could be for nothing should you ever be locked out, or the platform disappears. With niche networks gaining in popularity, and SaaS companies making it easier to have your own, it's an alternative worth considering.
